Big Wins in the Big Apple

Thursday night in Manhattan AT won two big awards for Med Ad News’ MANNY Awards, among the most coveted awards in the medical communications industry. The gala was held in New York City with over 500 people in attendance.

The first big win was the MANNY Vision Award. The award is given for the idea, concept, or initiative that best exemplifies the healthcare communications agency of the future. Icons.Health™, features unstructured discussions among entrepreneurs and innovators from divergent organizations about new and exciting trends in technology and their application to healthcare.

We also took home a trophy for Best Self Promotion, nominated for our outstanding work on the Feel the Data campaign. As you know, the campaign showcases our passion for science and clinical data. In this industry, we know science makes the difference, but making people feel something about it is what makes an impact.

In addition to those wins, AT was also nominated for the following categories:

Best Consumer Website: MACI “It’s Your Move”. The campaign, created for Vericel Corporation, taps into this shared psyche with 5-time olympic swimmer and fitness expert Dara Torres for the treatment of knee cartilage repair. (https://pharmawards.com/maci_dara/)

Best Interactive Physician Campaign: Unfriend Chronic Migraine for Allergan’s unbranded campaign. The campaign educates people about the Chronic Migraine condition and encourages them to take the impact test, find a specialist, and ask about treatment, giving them the power to unfriend Chronic Migraine. Marketer on the Rise: Lastly, AbelsonTaylor nominated our client from Avanos Health as this year’s Marketer on the Rise. Amy Williams was recognized Thursday night with her own Manny Award. Amy is the Associate Marketing Director of Interventional Pain Management with Avanos and currently leads the US DTC marketing efforts for the COOLIEF* brand.

Prior to this event, MedAdNews invited executives from the industry to serve on their “MedAdvocate” jury to help determine the winning Manny Award creative campaigns. Stephen Neale, EVP, Chief Creative Officer, represented AbelsonTaylor on this elite panel.
