Since our beginning in 1981, AbelsonTaylor has remained singularly focused on brands that help people live healthier lives. We didn’t simply add a division with “health” in the name to show our commitment to healthcare marketing and advertising. We don’t design for sneakers, or beer, or cars. We are 100% focused on and passionate about health and wellness. You see it in the brands we represent for our clients and the environment we’ve created for our people. The result is that today, AbelsonTaylor is the largest independent health and wellness agency in the world.

The goal is simple. Create an environment where 400 very different people with unique skill sets and diverse personalities work together toward a common goal. When the products you sell are ideas, strategy, and relationships, your most important assets are your people, your people, and your people.

Dale Taylor

As he’ll gladly tell you, Dale Taylor started AbelsonTaylor in 1981 because he got tired of working for jerks. And for more than 30 years, he’s made certain that his employees don’t have to work for jerks either. Make no mistake, you don’t win Agency of the Year 4 times, Most Admired Agency 4 times, and Most Creative Agency 11 out of the last 16 years; and 7 Ad of the Year awards and more major creative awards than any other medical agency by being a pushover. Instead, the agency follows his strict standards of quality. Very simply put, “The work comes first.”

Jay Carter

Jay Carter is a Michigan man. Jay is also a Notre Dame fan. And if you don’t think it’s possible to sustain such diametrically opposed forces in the same being, you don’t know Jay. As a pharmacist, he understands the science behind health and wellness products. As an MBA, he knows the business of branding—which has led him twice to the PharmaVOICE 100 Most Inspiring Leaders of the Pharma Industry, as well as Chairperson of the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame Management Committee. After more the 25 years in the industry, Jay can tell you about virtually every health and wellness brand on the market. Just don’t ask him about his favorite fight song.

Stephen Neale

The snack room in the AbelsonTaylor cafeteria is shaped like a big red balloon. That’s probably because Stephen Neale’s big red balloon concept helped shape the agency. And many would say the industry. After 25 years and more than 75 creative awards in healthcare advertising, including 4 Rx Club Gold and 3 Med Ad News Ads of the Year, Stephen is respected throughout the health and wellness advertising community. So much so, he frequently appears on awards competition judging panels and received the honor of chairing the first annual CLIO Healthcare Awards.

Jeff Berg

A PhD in pharmacology and a philosopher at heart, Jeff Berg blends an altruistic, caring side and a competitive business nature. Fortunately, health and wellness advertising allows Jeff to nurture both. He has more than 23 years of experience in pharmaceutical advertising, marketing, business development, strategy, and R&D. And he is truly bilingual when it comes to branding–he speaks both physician and consumer fluently.

Like giving every employee an extra day off during the month of his or her birthday. Providing free Chicago Art Institute memberships, discount health club memberships, and floating holidays. Employees also enjoy Free Lunch Fridays, frequent donuts, and regular happy hours to coincide with launches, agency events, and times we just feel like being happy.
